NBIF – One of a kind

Dr Asaad Faramarzi, Head of Dept. of Civil Engineering and Dr Zhai Wuzhou Field Trials & Experimental Officer at the University of Birmingham.

The talk will give the background to the development of the National Buried Infrastructure Facility and describe the facilities available to academia and industry that make the facility ‘one of a kind’ in the world for investigating underground space. A more detailed case study will be presented, concentrating on the instrumentation and analysis of a recent project to provide an understanding of how NBIF is being used to both inform research and assist in product development for industry.
