InfraChallenge open for entries

InfraChallenge open for entries
27 November 2019

Can you identify new digital ideas for infrastructure? Want to be part of a global competition that will initiate change? Have an idea to pitch that could crack open infrastructure issues?

InfraChallenge invites applicants from around the world and across sectors to pitch big ideas that will drive digital transformation in a sector that has not been widely disrupted by digitisation.

The competition is calling for digital innovations that can be applied to solve economic or social infrastructure issues and build momentum towards better infrastructure - such as how cities can embrace smart technology solutions to improve quality of life, managing environmental risks with Artificial Intelligence and the potential for digitisation to improve electricity networks.

Who should apply?
InfraChallenge is looking for forward-thinking innovators with a big idea and a passion to make it happen. Do digital solutions and the prospect of disrupting infrastructure-as-we-know-it get your brain ticking? Then this is your opportunity to enter a competition to create a tangible result for infrastructure. Finalists will be mentored by industry leaders and gain exposure on a global platform.

We’re looking for teams to apply who are experiencing issues, perhaps in their community, and who think they have a digital-driven idea that can solve them.

InfraChallenge is about unlocking digital ideas, solving big infrastructure issues, and bringing disruption to the industry to better prepare us for the future.

A shortlist of 20 finalists will be selected in March 2020 and provided with access to industry leaders and the competition partner MIT Solve during an eight-week tailored mentoring program. In May 2020, ten finalists will be chosen who receive additional mentoring with MIT Solve. The top 10 finalists will pitch their ideas and the winner announced at a live event in June 2020.

The winning entry team will receive support from InfraChallenge partner MIT Solve to scale their digital solution. The winner will also receive exposure to the G20’s Infrastructure Working Group, ongoing support from the GI Hub and partners, and a funding package of AUD$50,000 to develop their solution to the next stage.

Submit your idea and be part of InfraChallenge and the solution. Read more about the competition and enter here.

The deadline for entries is 24th February 2020.
