Fawley Waterside

Fawley Waterside

Between the sea and the New Forest National Park, Fawley Waterside is being developed into a new vibrant coastal town with its own marina. It will be spread over 400,000 square metres, along 3 kilometres of pristine coastline, and sit inside the proposed Solent Freeport. Drawing on the best of British and European town planning and the architecture seen in the towns and villages around the New Forest, it aims to be a pioneering net zero smart town. Located only 90 minutes from London by road or rail, and with international connections via Southampton Airport, Fawley Waterside is strategically placed to allow for a thriving community to live and work.

Fawley Waterside’s science & technology park will target sectors including marine technology, smart cities, and advanced manufacturing, and will integrate industry, government & academia in a site focused on social value and the environment.

UKCRIC will be involved in scoping studies such as for net zero residential and commercial development and transport links. Together, Fawley Waterside and UKCRIC aim to create an ecosystem where academia & industry can:

  • Collaborate & share technical expertise (e.g. marine autonomy firms with the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute)
  • Establish talent pipelines
  • Commercialise IP

There will be scoping meetings over the coming months. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch at hello@ukcric.com.
