Net Zero Infrastructure Industry Coalition

Net Zero Infrastructure Industry Coalition

The Net-Zero Infrastructure Industry Coalition (NZIIC) was formed in 2019 in response to the UK government’s 2050 net-zero greenhouse gas emissions commitment. UKCRIC is a founding member of the Coalition, along with Mott MacDonald, Skanksa, UK Green Buildings Council, Anglian Water, Transport for London, Engie, Pinsent Masons, KPMG, Energy Systems Catapult, Carbon Trust, and Leeds City Council.

The objectives of the Coalition are to:

  1. Support governments in providing and demonstrating leadership from across the infrastructure industry and inspire others to impartially help shape policy and guide its practical implementation.
  2. Use the Coalition’s considerable resources to convene stakeholder groups and advise governments on the delivery of infrastructure to achieve net-zero by 2050 or earlier.
  3. Support the development and implementation of regulation and standards by working closely with policy and standards setting organisations.
  4. Become a globally recognised centre of innovation and expertise in achieving a good net-zero with a focus on economic prosperity, realising co-benefits for society and a just transition, and enabling the UK to be an international leader in net-zero for infrastructure.
  5. Provide regular communication and high-quality practical guidance on key aspects of achieving net-zero in the infrastructure industry.
  6. Manage Working Groups to develop guidance and organise impactful events and meetings to disseminate knowledge
